I've presented the Invite-Welcome-Connect work many times now in congregations around the country, and I alway pray and trust that God will speak through me...using my gifts and passion in a way that will touch people's hearts and souls. This process is all about using God's gift of creativity in a way that brings transformation in the lives of people, so what a blessing to receive feedback from two lay women who've attended my workshop. Clearly the Holy Spirit was speaking through me, as I do not remember explicitly saying some of the things they mention. I am grateful for their kind, encouraging words.

1. Just show up; don't worry about being perfect.
2. Certainly don't compare yourself to others--and if you must, know that they don't have it all together either.
3. Be brave. Risk showing someone else your true self. Invite that person into your truth.
4. Listen carefully to your calling and path. It might not look like what you think it should, what you planned for, or what it presently is.
5. Don't be afraid to love others. Especially the strangers (and seemingly strange ones).
